DID YOU KNOW?

Labor Day was created to celebrate American workers. But more than 100 years ago, some of those workers had four legs! š“
Horses were a familiar sight in Labor Day parades, pulling decorated carriages, wagons and floats. But horses werenāt the only animals helping people get the job done. Oxen and mules worked on farms and helped with heavy loads, while horses, donkeys and other animals played important roles in transportation, farming and other kinds of work.Even today, dogs can be working members of police departments as K-9 officers, helping with jobs such as tracking and detection. šš«š These four-legged workers have been helping people for generations.
Today, animals are still part of some Labor Day celebrations.
In Louisville, Colorado, this yearās festivities include a Childrenās Pet Parade with dogs, cats, farm friends and even a llama, followed by the cityās Labor Day Parade, where equestrians will take part. In Beulah, Michigan, 22 dogs and a tortoise joined more than 300 people for the communityās Labor Day Bridge Walk.
So, what do you thinkā¦
Is Labor Day really a day off for EVERY worker? š¤
